Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – 2 Corinthians 5:16-17

Wednesday, March 06, 2013 – Fourth Sunday of Lent, Year C

2 Corinthians 5:16-17 – From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view; even though we once knew Christ from a human point of view, we know him no longer that way. So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see everything has become new!

It is easy to look at a person as a gender or a skin color or as a member of a certain socioeconomic class. We ascribe values and prejudices to these and other traits. As people of faith, we are called to look at people through God’s lens.

Prayer: Loving God, remove the scales of prejudice and presumption from our eyes so that we will see people as you do. Amen.
