Monday, April 29, 2013 – Sixth Sunday of Easter, Year C
We are now approaching the sixth Sunday of Easter. The lectionary selections include Acts 16:9-15; Psalm 67; Revelation 21:10, 22-22:5 and John 14:23-29 or John 5:1-9.
Acts 16:9-10 – During the night Paul had a vision: there stood a man of Macedonia pleading with him saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” When he had seen the vision, we immediately tried to cross over to Macedonia, being convinced that God had called us to proclaim the good news to them.
I am moved by the faith of Paul in this passage. How did he know this was a message from God and not just a dream? My prayer for us today is for discernment so that we might also know the difference.
Prayer: Almighty God, help us hear your voice above the din that fills our world. Amen.
