Fifth Sunday of Epiphany 2017 – Isaiah 58:11-12

Isaiah 58:11-12The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters never fail.  Your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of the streets to live in.

These verses bring us full circle.  As we care for one another, we also bring healing to our world.  Each of us becomes a “repairer of the breach” and a “restorer of the streets.”  Wonderful phrases.

Creator God, bless our individual efforts to bring healing to one another.  Multiply our efforts so that our world might also be healed.  Amen.
