Proper 14 (19) 2016 – Hebrews 11:12-13

Hebrews 11:12-13Therefore from Abraham, and he was as good as dead, descendants were born, “as many as the stars of heaven and as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.”  All of these died in faith without having received the promises, but from a distance they saw and greeted them. They confessed that they were strangers and foreigners on the earth…

I believe we are on a journey of faith that leads toward God’s promised peaceable kingdom.  But for all the generations before us and possibly for many generations after us, our role is to do what we can to hasten its arrival even if we won’t have the chance to live in it ourselves.

Creator God, bless our efforts to make this world a better place for our children.  Amen.
