Proper 4/Ordinary 9 2016 – Luke 7:4-5

Thursday, May 26, 2016

Luke 7:4-5When the religious leaders came to Jesus, they appealed to him earnestly, saying, “He (the centurion) is worthy of having you do this for him, for he loves our people, and it is he who built our synagogue for us.”

Words are powerful with the ability to be healing or hurtful.  The centurion’s attitude toward the people was supported by his deeds.  We are reminded today that actions can speak louder than words.

Gracious God, help us to ‘walk our talk’ as we work to be the faithful, loving people you want us to be.  Amen.
