Seventh Sunday of Easter 2016 – Acts 16:16-17

Acts 16:16-17One day, as we were going to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners a great deal of money by fortune-telling.  While she followed Paul and us, she would cry out, “These men are slaves of the Most High God, who proclaim to you a way of salvation.”

Most of us would probably consider the girl a fortune-telling, carnival side-show and walk on past her, but this slave girl cried out the truth.  God can be revealed through anyone.

God of mystery, help us to be prepared to hear your voice in all the shapes, colors, sizes and voices of people around us.  Amen.
