Fifth Sunday of Easter 2016 – Revelation 21:3-4

Revelation 21:3-4And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “See, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them as their God; they will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them; he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away.”

We are surrounded by people in tears – in our homes, in our communities and in our world.  But the world described in these verses is the world of the new Jerusalem.

Almighty and everlasting God, give us the ability to begin to reduce some of the pain felt by our brothers and our sisters.  Amen.
