Acts 9:40-41 – Peter put all of them outside, and then he knelt down and prayed. He turned to the body and said, “Tabitha, get up.” Then she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up. He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then calling the saints and widows, he showed her to be alive.
I have read this passage many times. What struck me in reading it today was the last sentence. He showed that Tabitha was alive to both the saints and the widows – leaders of the faith and the poorest of the poor. The power of God was revealed to all.
Gracious God, through our actions and our words, help us to proclaim our faith to everyone we meet today. Amen.
