Third Sunday of Easter 2016 – Acts 9:3-4

Acts 9:3-4Now as Saul was going along and approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.  He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

Saul was not prepared for Jesus both to address him and to choose him for important work toward his kingdom.  As people of faith, we are challenged to remain at a state of readiness to hear God however small the voice, and then be prepared to act.

Almighty God, help us to be prepared to serve you in any way that you call us.  Amen.
