Fourth Week of Lent 2016 – Psalm 32:5

Tuesday, March 1, 2016

Psalm 32:5Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the guilt of my sin.

The fifth step of Alcoholics Anonymous states: “Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.”  Psalm 32 reminds us that we need to be honest with both God and ourselves.

Forgiving God, you offer us abundant grace.  Give us the strength to bring all our shortcomings, significant and otherwise, to you in prayer.  Amen.
