Philippians 4:5 – Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.

According to Strong’s Concordance (online) the Greek word for gentleness in this passage is epieik, which means truly fair or justice beyond ordinary justice.  According to William Barclay, Aristotle said it refers to a person who easily pardons human failure.

God of all of us, help us to be more forgiving, more gentle, with one another.  Amen.
