Mark 10:43-44 – But it is not so among you; but whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be slave of all.

Servant is a word I never use in my own language much less the word slave.  I was compelled to consider them because of today’s verses.  Help is a synonym of servant, and my thesaurus doesn’t even consider the word slave.  But to be great, we must be helpers to one another.

Loving God, give us caring hearts for one another so that we are always compelled to help our brothers and sisters.  Amen.
