Sixth Sunday of Easter 2015 –

Acts 10:44-46While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard the word.  The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles, for they heard them speaking in tongues and extolling God.

It is easy for me to forget that Jesus was a Jew as were those first followers of Jesus.  So think of the impact of this moment on Peter when he realizes that God as revealed by Jesus Christ has been made accessible to everyone.

Awesome God, though we speak and look different, help us to remember that all of us are precious to you.  Amen.
