Easter Sunday 2015 – Mark 16:5-7

Mark 16:5-7As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.  But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.  But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.”

The resurrection is the most significant moment in Christianity, and it is fair to say that it is also the most difficult aspect of our faith to comprehend.  But like Peter and the other disciples, we are to proceed faithfully toward our own Galilee’s where we can hope to see Jesus, just as the scriptures have promised us.

Almighty God, strengthen our faith in all of the weak places.  Help us to press on toward you.  Amen.
