John 3:16-17For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.  Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

As a young tenor in an adult choir, one of my favorite anthems was God So Loved The World by John Stainer.  While reminding me of this childhood memory, the passage reminds all of us of God’s ongoing creative presence in our lives and in our world.

Steadfast and merciful God, help us to hear your voice in the wind around us, in the sun above us and in the voices of each person we meet today.  Amen.
