Third Sunday of Lent 2015 – Exodus 20:1-3

Monday, March 2, 2015

Moses delivers God’s ten commandments, and Jesus drives the money changers away from the Temple in the passages for the upcoming third Sunday of Lent.  The selections include: Exodus 20:1-17, Psalm 19, 1 Corinthians 1:18-25, John 2:13-22.

Exodus 20:1-3Then God spoke all these words: I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before me.

Before God delivers the first commandment, the Israelites are reminded that God has been and will remain an active participant in their daily lives.

Awesome God, help us to sense your unending presence in our lives today and every day.  Amen.
