Fourth Sunday of Epiphany 2015 – 1 Corinthians 8:3-4

Thursday, January 29, 2015

1 Corinthians 8:3-4“…but anyone who loves God is known by him.  Hence, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “no idol in the world really exists,” and that “there is no God but one.”

Paul seems to be saying to some close disciples, “You know and I know there is only one God, so food offered to an idol is just that, food.  Nothing more, nothing less.”

Gracious God, give us discerning minds so that we can embrace that which is truly important to you.  Amen.
