Mark 1:16-18As Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the sea–for they were fishermen.  And Jesus said to them, “Follow me and I will make you fish for people.”  And immediately they left their nets and followed him.

This is reported as a brief interaction, to say the least.  I have often wondered what Simon and Andrew saw in Jesus that made them drop everything to follow him.  Is there a part of the story left out, or was Jesus able to communicate with his eyes or through a genuine smile that he was the real deal?

Loving God, help us so that people see your face in ours today and everyday.  Amen.
