Third Sunday of Epiphany 2015 – Psalm 62:5-6

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

We are approaching the third Sunday of the Epiphany season.  The passages suggested for next Sunday include:  Jonah 3:1-5, 10, Psalm 62:5-12, 1 Corinthians 7:29-31 and Mark 1:14-20.

Psalm 62:5-6For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him.  He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.

Life is full of many distractions – work, cell phones, hobbies – any of which can become like a god in its hold on our attentions.  As we say at the Church Health Center, moderation is the key.  Work to keep God the central focus of your entire life.

Understanding God, give us strength so that we can always keep our focus on you and your priorities for us.  Amen.
