Proper 21/Ordinary 26, 2014 – Psalm 25:1, 4-5

Monday, September 22, 2014

There are a number of familiar passages for our consideration this week, but I am drawn to the passage from Philippians.  Our selections include: Exodus 17:1-7,  and Psalm 78:1-4, 12-16, Ezekiel 18:1-4, 25-32 and Psalm 25:1-9, Philippians 2:1-13 and Matthew 21:23-32.

Psalm 25:1, 4-5To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul…Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.  Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long.

We read passages like this often in the Bible.  The psalmist has opened his heart to God, and he makes known his desire for his life to be a continual conversation with God.

Almighty God, open our hearts and our minds to your never-ending voice in our lives.  Amen.
