Proper 7/Ordinary 12, 2014 – Matthew 10:26-27

Matthew 10:26-27“So have no fear of them; for nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known.
10:27 What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim from the housetops.

This week’s passages share a theme of people living out their faith amidst persecution they suffer for that faith. Here, Jesus is encouraging the disciples to live their faith boldly despite the opposition to which they might be subjected.

Gracious, loving God, give us the confidence to live into our faith as fully as we are able. Amen.
