Trinity Sunday 2014 – Genesis 1:1-3

Monday, June 9, 2014

The Sunday after Pentecost is known as Trinity Sunday. This year’s passages include: Genesis 1:1-2:4a, Psalm 8, 2 Corinthians 13:11-13, and Matthew 28:16-20.

Genesis 1:1-3In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

There are times in all of our lives when darkness and uncertainty envelope us. It is during these moments when we must listen most carefully for God’s voice, when we must look most closely for God’s light in our lives.

Almighty God, help us to sense your presence in our lives, especially during our most difficult times. Amen.
