Seventh Sunday of Easter 2014 – Psalm 68:32-33

Monday, May 26, 2014

The season of Easter is about to come to a close in a few weeks. For the upcoming seventh week of Easter, we are offered the following passages: Acts 1:6-14; Psalm 68:1-10, 32-35; 1 Peter 4:12-14; 5:6-11; John 17:1-11.

Psalm 68:32-33Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth; sing praises to the Lord, Selah. O rider in the heavens, the ancient heavens; listen, he sends out his voice, his mighty voice.

Since the Psalms were often sung, the word “Selah” was an instruction to pause before the next line. Today, pause periodically, and take time to listen for God’s “mighty voice” in your life.

Ever-present God, help us to bend our ears toward you so that we can hear your will for us. Amen.
