Sixth Sunday of Easter 2014 – Acts 17:22-23

Acts 17:22-23Then Paul stood in front of the Areopagus and said, “Athenians, I see how extremely religious you are in every way. For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription, ‘To an unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.”

I still remember the thrill when as a 12 year old, my Dad stood below the Acropolis, stretched out his arms and said, “Butch, this is where Apostle Paul spoke to the Athenians!” 42 years later, I am still challenged to walk in the footsteps of the forebears of our faith.

Steadfast God, help us to hear your voice in our lives so that we can faithfully walk the path you have set before us. Amen.
