Fourth Sunday of Easter 2014 –

1 Peter 2:20-21If you endure when you are beaten for doing wrong, what credit is that? But if you endure when you do right and suffer for it, you have God’s approval. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.

Christ and many people of faith have suffered mightily for their beliefs. While it may not lead to our being tortured or killed, faith practiced intentionally can lead us to decisions that are unpopular with some of those around us.

Understanding God, help us to remain steadfast in our faith even when we are being challenged by many around us. Amen.
