Fourth Sunday of Lent, 2014 – John 9:20-21

John 9:20-21His parents answered, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind; but we do not know how it is that now he sees, nor do we know who opened his eyes. Ask him; he is of age. He will speak for himself.”

This passage goes on to tell us that the parents were afraid that they would be put out of the synagogue if they spoke of Jesus as the Messiah so they wanted their son to speak for himself about his healing.

Almighty God, give us strength for our convictions so we can stand up for what is right in all situations that test us. Amen.
