Third Sunday of Lent, 2014 – John 4:9

John 4:9The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask a drink of me, a woman of Samaria?” (Jews do not share things in common with Samaritans.)

In my own walk of faith, I try hard to remember that Jesus is always showing his love for the outcasts and strangers of his time. Jesus calls all of us to a radical neighborliness that challenges us to reach out to everyone, even those who are different from us or who make us uncomfortable.

Almighty God, give us the vision to see each person as a child of yours and as a brother or sister to us. Amen.
