Second Sunday of Lent, 2014 – Romans 4:3

Romans 4:3For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.”

God spoke to Abraham in Haran. His travel that ended in Canaan was about 500 miles in a straight line. Tennesseans will appreciate that such a distance is equivalent to walking from Memphis to the Virginia border. Of course, Abraham didn’t walk in a straight line.

Loving God, grant each of us a portion of the faith of Abraham. Amen.
