We are approaching the second Sunday of Lent. The lectionary passages for us this week are: Genesis 12:1-4a; Psalm 121; Romans 4:1-5, 13-17; John 3:1-17 or Matthew 17:1-9.
Genesis 12:1 – Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.
God comes to Abraham, and tells him to leave the land and family he knows. Then God says, “I’ll get back to you on where you are going to end up.” Abraham was asked to have radical trust in God. So are we.
God of Abraham, help us to hear your voice in our lives so that we may have the opportunity to follow you more closely. Amen.
