A Journey through Proverbs – Proverbs 6:6-8

January 6, 2014

Proverbs 6:6-8Go to the ant, you lazybones; consider its ways, and be wise. Without having any chief or officer or ruler, it prepares its food in the summer, and gathers it sustenance in harvest.

We know today that ants actually live in highly organized, hierarchical social structures. Members of each colony are divided into castes, and each caste is distinguished from the other castes by at least one skill or responsibility that is not shared by other groups. In other words, cooperation between all the members, each doing what they do best, is vital to the survival of the colony.

Prayer: Creator God, you have formed us into uniquely and wonderfully made people. Bless our gifts to your service. Amen.
