Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Hebrews 11:1-3

Thursday, August 8, 2013 – Proper 14/Ordinary 19, Year C

Hebrews 11:1-3Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Indeed, by faith our ancestors received approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible.

Life doesn’t come with a complete set of one-size-fits-all directions. Yet we know that if hope is present in our lives, even if just a teaspoon, our ability to face life’s challenges will be better. Helping people find or even rediscover hope in their lives can be life changing work for both the giver and receiver.

Prayer: Loving God, help us be better instillers of hope for your people we meet this and every day. Amen.
