Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Genesis 15:5-6

Tuesday, August 6, 2013 – Proper 14/Ordinary 19, Year C

Genesis 15:5-6The LORD brought Abram outside and said, “Look toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” And he believed the LORD, and the LORD reckoned it to him as righteousness.

We live as people limited in our abilities and our vision. Yet the scripture today reminds us that God is not bound by the limits we know. Our God is boundless – a hard concept for a limited mind to comprehend.

Prayer: Almighty God, we cannot comprehend your knowledge of us, but we ask this day to catch a glimpse of ourselves as you see us. Amen.
