Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Psalm 85:10-11

Monday, July 22, 2013 – Proper 12/Ordinary 17, Year C

Abraham pleads for the righteous of Sodom and Gomorrah and Jesus teaches his disciples to pray in the lectionary selections this week which include: Hosea 1:2-10; Psalm 85; Colossians 2:6-15, (16-19) and Luke 11:1-13. Alternative passages include Genesis 18:20-32 and Psalm 138.

Psalm 85:10-11 Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other. Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky.
This is a wonderful passage with which to begin our week. We put our faith into action each day creating a grassroots movement of neighborly love. May God bless our actions today and every day.

Prayer: Loving God, while we may stumble along the way, help us as we faithfully walk toward your will. Amen.
