Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Luke 10:36-37

Friday, July 12, 2013 – Proper 10/Ordinary 15, Year C

Luke 10:36-37“Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

What a great passage on which to end this week: “Go and do likewise.” The story of the Good Samaritan reminds us that being a neighbor is not always easy, yet it is what we are asked to do each day.

Prayer: Steadfast and understanding God, thank you for your mercy toward us as we stumble forward trying to be the neighbors you want us to be. Amen.
