Daily Devotion for the Church Health Center – Luke 10:30

Thursday, July 11, 2013 – Proper 10/Ordinary 15, Year C

Luke 10:30Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead.”

When I read this I couldn’t help but think of the nightly news and how this would be the headline of the story because if it bleeds it leads. But the real headline of this story for people of faith is: Unlikely Stranger Helps Neighbor In Need.

Prayer: God of abundant love, help us be neighbors to those we meet this day. Amen.
