Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Psalm 118

Monday, March 18, 2013 – Palm Sunday and Holy Week, Year C

We are approaching Palm Sunday and Holy Week.  There are two passages for Palm Sunday, and they are Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29 and Luke 19:28-40.  There are also selections for each day of Holy Week, which you can find at this web site maintained by Vanderbilt University

Psalm 118 is one of my favorites, and we will begin this week with a prayer I adapted from this wonderful Psalm.

O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever! (v1)
The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. (v22)
This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. (v23)
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD. (26a)
This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (v24)

Amen.
