Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Isaiah 55:1

Monday, February 25, 2013 – Third Sunday of Lent, Year C

Isaiah 55:1 – Lo, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.

A wine taster holds the glass of wine up to the light, swirls and sniffs the wine then savors a sip. In doing this, the essence of the wine is uncovered, its complexities discovered. Likewise, may we savor God’s Word.

Prayer: Almighty God, help us taste your Word so that it nourishes us as you desire. Amen.
