Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Philippians 3:20-21

Friday, February 22, 2013 – Second Sunday of Lent, Year C

Philippians 3:20-21 – But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humiliation that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, by the power that also enables him to make all things subject to himself.

One’s self image can be a help or a hindrance in their journey toward healthier living. Paul admonishes us to be proud of our shared heritage as children of heaven, reminding us that we are the body of Christ first.

Prayer: Sovereign God, help us take better care of ourselves, keeping us mindful that there is no shame in Christ’s body. Amen.
