Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Psalm 138:1, 6

Tuesday, February 5, 2013 – Fifth Sunday after Epiphany, Year C

Psalm 138:1, 6 – I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise; For though the LORD is high, he regards the lowly; but the haughty he perceives from far away.

A favorite ending to a prayer I have heard (and have also then used myself) is: In the name of the one who sits on high but reaches down low, Amen. My prayer is that your work today, whatever that work is, touches someone who otherwise would not have been helped.

Prayer: Loving God, be with us in our daily walk with you. Help us to understand the needs of our neighbors. Amen.
