Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Psalm 132:13-16

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 – Proper 29/Ordinary 34, Year B

Psalm 132:13-16For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his habitation: “This is my final resting place forever; here I will reside, for I have desired it.  I will abundantly bless its provisions; I will satisfy its poor with bread.  Its priests I will clothe with salvation, and its faithful will shout for joy.

It is easy to think of abundance only in terms of monetary wealth.  Yet abundance in this passage is associated with basic sustenance and joy-filled living that comes with living close to God.

Prayer: Gracious God, help us to lead faith-centered lives so that we can experience lives as full as you intend for us.  Amen.
