Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Romans 13:8-10

Wednesday, August 31, 2011 – Proper 18 & Ordinary 23, Year A

Romans 13:8-10Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet”; and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.

Paul instructs that our faith is expressed through the numerous interactions with others each day. It is that simple, and it is that difficult.

Prayer: Understanding God, we want to love our neighbors. Help us expand our definitions of neighbor to include all of your children. AMEN
