Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Psalm 149:1-3

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 – Proper 18 & Ordinary 23, Year A

Psalm 149:1-3Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful. Let Israel be glad in its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre.

My outward expressions of Christian faith tend to be subdued. But my job offers me opportunities to participate in other settings where the worship experiences include many opportunities for joyful praise. I generally leave such services blessed to have been in the presence of so many people who through outstretched hands and shouts of “Praise God” and “Amen” were able to create a new song in my heart.

Prayer: Glorious God, we praise you in many languages and in many styles. My all our voices be pleasing to you today and every day. AMEN.
