Daily Devotion from the Church Health Center – Psalm 145:8-9, 14

Wednesday, July 27, 2011 – Proper 13 & Ordinary 18, Year A

Psalm 145:8-9, 14The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The LORD is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made. The LORD upholds all who are falling, and raises up all who are bowed down.

I can’t help but notice the language of healing in the last verse. We can fall and be bowed down in so many ways, both physically and spiritually. God is there for us helping us toward health and wholeness.

Prayer: Gracious God of compassion, we give thanks to you for being by our side throughout our life journey. AMEN.
