Proper 18/Ordinary 23 – James 2:15-17

From James 2:15-17 – If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.

The passage today reminds us that we are called to a faith that should transform us (Romans 12) and keep us mindful of the needs of those around us (Matthew 25). We are admonished to be healing presences to those around us.

Prayer:

Steadfast God, open our eyes so that we can see the help our neighbors need. AMEN.
