On Young Children and Stress

This is a fascinating article about the importance of the first three years of a child’s life in their overall development.  Certainly faith communities have a role to play in helping parents raise children in supportive, abuse-free environments.

Wisdom of Solomon 6:12-13

From the apocryphal Wisdom of Solomon 6:12-13 – Wisdom is radiant and unfading, and she is easily discerned by those who love her, and is found by those who seek her.  She hastens to make herself known to those who desire her.

I have never been part of a tradition that utilizes the apocrypha, but I have Roman Catholic friends who would be familiar with this passage as it is a part of their Bible.  I was drawn to this idea that to find wisdom can be as simple as seeking it.  We often speak of wanting to know what God wants us to do, but to know God’s will, we must develop an attitude of listening for…seeking…God.

Prayer:

God of our beginning and our end, help us be better seekers of your will.  Help us in our ongoing efforts to incline our ears to you.  AMEN.
