Thursday, February 28, 2013 – Third Sunday of Lent, Year C
Luke 13:2-3 – Jesus asked them, “Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way they were worse sinners than all other Galileans? No, I tell you; unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.”
Whether intentional or unintentional, we often make value judgments on those who are different from us. These value judgments often cloud our view of those left out of the systems of support we have in areas like access to health care or housing. Yet, the Jewish word for repent, teshuvah, means simply to return to God – return to the God whose steadfast love includes abundant pardon.
Prayer: Steadfast God, help our journey in life to always be toward you. Amen.
